N'ayons pas peur des mots, Wall-E est ce qui est arrivé de mieux à l'animation depuis un certain Blanche-Neige est les sept nains en 1938 !!! Le studio Pixar toise l'excellence encore une fois et permet de nous évader sur la planète vidé de ses hommes en compagnie d'un petit robot et ou il est impossible de résister au charme de Wall-E. Poésie, humour et amour compose le puzzle Wall-E avec tant de tendresse et de savoir faire que ça en devient presque énervant.
Le petit robot n'est pas personnalisé mais bel et bien humanisé, ce qui semble être un exploit de la part d'une boite métallique auquel on a rajouté un paire de jumelles en guise d'yeux. S'en suit un ballet perpétuel, hymne à l'amour entre un petit être qui a été seul trop longtemps et une charmante robot new génération. Au travers des robots on parvient à y dégager tant de sentiments que cela devient presque effrayant surtout que, dans le même temps, l'homme en prend pour son grade (et le gouvernement Bush plus encore). Et c'est ce qui est nouveau avec Pixar, le double niveau de lecture adulte / enfant devient triple avec une critique féroce, mais qui passe en douceur, sur notre société.

L'absence quasi totale de dialogue, les mimiques du personnage centrale, le thème même du film ramène aux œuvres de Charlie Chaplin ou Buster keaton, l'ambiance à des œuvres comme 2001 l'odyssée de l'espace, les personnages font penser au culte Johnny 5 ou au robot de H2G2 ... bref le meilleur du cinéma se retrouve dans Wall-E , un hommage dévoilé ici qui augmente encore s'il était possible son capital sympathie auprès des plus jeunes comme des adultes et des plus froid et insensible d'entre nous.
